Programmes pour vos clients

The Parent Resource Centre provides several programs to which you may refer parents and their young children:

Growing Up Downtown - parent/child program offering resources and activities for families living in difficult circumstances in the centre of the city.

Supporting Neighbourhood Caregivers - training for parents and other caregivers in neighbourhoods where low income, limited literacy, social isolation, and being new to Canada are realities. The training is non-print based and addresses child development, health and safety, how to care for children, and how to choose a caregiver.

Reaching Out - a service to support individuals facing barriers to participating in conventional parent education and support programs.

The following programs are usually self-referral, but please check them out for your clients:

  • Parent Child Mother Goose - a literacy and bonding experience for parents and their young children.
  • Post Partum Depression Support
Instead of saying "Don't touch anything!" when taking young children on an outing, say "Look with your eyes" and teach them the One Finger Rule. By touching with one finger, they can satisfy some of their natural curiosity without being able to pick up anything.
