Parent Resource Centre Drop-In
Printing Instructions
Printing the Profiles
The Community profiles listed are available in PDF files for web viewing or downloading purposes. If you wish to print any or all of the profiles please read the following information or you may wish to consider ordering what you need.
Paper size- Ledger page 11" x 17" (279mm x 432mm) is highly recommended and is the default setting for these documents. Many larger copiers can take ledger size paper but most desk printers have a maximum paper size of 8.5 x 11.
Orientation- Be sure to adjust your print settings for 'Landscape' and adjust accordingly if using smaller paper size to avoid waste. It is highly recommended that you use the 'print preview' button to ensure that the document layout is correct for the print job.
Print properties- For best results colour printing is recommended for the Community profiles. The profiles can be viewed and printed in black and white.

Drop-in Schedule - Stay tuned for the new Fall Drop-in Schedule
The Parent Resource Centre will be running our Kid Fit Summer program during the months of July and August. Please refer to the schedule on our KID FIT page for new times and program activities.
The Drop-In is closed for two weeks during Christmas-New Year's (December 21, 2009 to January 5, 2010), one week during March Break and the latter part of June (date varies).
The Drop-In is a bright and sunny space designed to encourage play and social conversations.
- Simple crafts and special activities are available daily, as well as a climber and ride-on toys.
- Large couches safely surround a baby area providing a cozy and stimulating environment for parents and infants and a place for preschool children to enjoy a quiet story.
- Dramatic play opportunities abound in our dress up corner and play kitchen.
- Participation and cooperation is integral to this program. Adults and children alike are encouraged to tidy and maintain the drop-in as well as join in during circle time.
- Circle time takes place every morning around 11 a.m., for the adults and children, featuring songs, finger plays, rhymes, puppets and stories.
Networks of support develop and friendships grow among both adults and children. The Parent-Child Educator provides information about children's health and development, discipline strategies and childcare choices plus many other topics of interest to parents and caregivers. She lends a sympathetic ear, refers parents to other professionals and agencies and problem solves with parents who are struggling with a particular concern.
